Green Housing For Your Best Life

Image by David Mark from Pixabay

With all the talk of going green, it should come as no surprise that there are movements being made towards green housing with every passing day. This way of living sustains our resources and actually has immense benefits for the family who lives green to the fullest extent that they can.

So what exactly is green housing? For the most part, anytime you have heard the term greenhouse has been in conversations about gardening. But today, green housing is not about plants but about the home you live in throughout your life. Living in a home that has been built with sustainable building materials is one way to know you are making a smaller footprint on the earth. Sure, it is a big step and a lifelong decision; but when you are fully committed to making this change in your life, you are on your way to an abundantly healthy life.

Sustainable building materials are those that are composed of renewable, rather than nonrenewable resources. This could be certified wood that has been harvested from sustainably managed sources. This type of material would preferably have an independent certification. Further, green housing materials could be products that have been manufactured with resource-efficient processes including reducing energy consumption, minimizing waste (recycled, recyclable and/or source reduced product packaging), and reducing greenhouse gases.

While the materials used are a large part of the total package of going green; the design of the home also comes into play. One form of green home is the roundhome. The reason for this is that a roundhome clearly uses fewer materials for construction because of the shape of the walls. In a roundhome, there is less square footage in terms of exterior walls. The reason why round homes are so popular is sheer design. For people who are into a green lifestyle, letting nature into their dwelling through the use of ample windows and wood elements is a little slice of heaven. In a roundhome, light streams in through windows, and many homeowners choose gorgeous wood ceilings to show off their natural lifestyle.

Living in a green home, a family is treated to a natural sense of well-being. The benefits of a green home go further than beauty and even further than the eco-friendly aspect. Studies have shown that healthy air, natural light and views to the outdoors actually improve an individual's productivity. By building a green home, especially a light-filled roundhome, you set yourself up for promoted health as well as economic prosperity.

There are plenty of ways that you can begin a green lifestyle. However, when you reach the point where the little steps just don't seem to fill the need you have inside of you; green housing may be the next logical step to take. Round home designs are easy to come by, and are even available as ultra-affordable prefabricated homes. There is no limit to the ways you can make a positive impact on your own life and on the world you live in.

Different Kinds of Green Houses

Image by David Mark from Pixabay

Green houses are quite common and have many uses. You can find many people using green houses to over winter their plants or to get a head start on some vegetables and flowers. How ever you choose to use them they work out as they are small and usually the size of your shed and easily maintainable.

You could also find the large green houses. These are normally used for commercial growing of plants by big business. The varieties of green houses are also quite large and differ based on the owner's choice.

You could build a variety of ware houses based on your requirement. Depending on your need you could go in for a temporary structure or a permanent one as per your requirement. For a permanent structure you will have to choose your frame wisely in order to withstand the test of time.

Have you seen aluminum green houses? They are perfect examples of temporary green houses as aluminum is light in weight and easily movable. On the other hand if you plan on building a permanent structure you will have to go in with wood.

While choosing the design you must look in to the dome shaped green house. This is one of the strongest possible structures for a green house and ideally suited to places with high rain fall. It looks like a ball cut in half and placed on the ground its looks can actually be deceiving. It is in fact the strongest green house you can make.

The cost incurred initially might be on the higher side because of the green house panels and other materials that you will require in building your green house. But remember that these efforts will always bear fruits because these are long lasting structures and do not require much maintenance.

You may also have a look at the gable green house. These are not freestanding though and need to be attached to another structure such as a building, house or barn.

It most commonly looks like half of a gable house. The type of green house you choose must be based on your requirements and within your space limits and the amount of plants you plan on growing.

Green House Plans: Why Get LEED Certification?

Image by David Mark from Pixabay

LEED certification potential is the ideal way to assess green house plans, principally because it is comprehensive. Instead of focusing on a certain area of construction and design, LEED certification covers at every facet, including indoor air quality, resource use, land issues and construction materials. Moreover, the certification process requires meticulous attention to detail. LEED certification is not easily won; to earn it, the result of sustainable house plans must be tested and inspected. Given all of this, it's no wonder that LEED certification is considered the zenith of sustainable home design.

Green house plans for LEED certification aren't just good for the planet - they're also wonderful for the people who end up living in the homes they describe. People who have lived in a house constructed from green house plans can vouch for the following advantages of LEED certification:

1. Reduced water and energy costs. Sustainable home design must provide significant energy and water savings in order to qualify for LEED certification. As an example, one way green house plans achieve improved water efficiency is by including rain gardens that harvest free water.

2. No toxic off-gassing or other fumes. Paint, vinyl and other traditional construction materials may release toxic chemicals. Vinyl off-gases have been found to contribute to cancer rates. To avoid noxious materials, the "Materials and Resources" section of the certification process confers points for selecting toxin-free, environmentally friendly materials. You can be confident that your family will be safe in a home built from green house plans.

3. Exceptional durability. Another section of the certification process, "Innovation and Design," obliges builders to create long-lasting homes that will require fewer costly repairs in the future. This is one of the top benefits of sustainable house plans - less worry over the entire period of habitation.

4. Universal green building standards. Peers, family members and neighbors will be in awe of your green roots when you show them your LEED certification. Your positive example could even induce some of them to choose sustainable house design!

5. Qualification for environmental incentives. A slew of environmental building incentives require LEED certification.

6. Assured transit access and walkability. Another certification category, "Location and Linkages," considers accessibility to common locations such as churches, daycare centers and grocery stores. If you enjoy walking or biking to nearby restaurants and boutiques, you will love living in a LEED certified home that has been created according to green house plans.

7. Improved air quality. The EPA estimates that indoor air is often five times more polluted than outdoor air. Builders must pay attention to interior air quality when earning LEED certification for sustainable house plans. As an example of how this manifests in design, a detached garage helps isolate toxic fumes and combustible gases.

8. Complimentary homeowners' manual. The last LEED certification category we'll mention is "Awareness & Education." This section awards points for efforts to increase homeowner knowledge. Many builders choose to earn points in this area by providing handbooks on the green technologies that are included in specific green house plans. Many LEED builders also include a walk-through to personally describe how to care for a new green home over the long haul.

These eight advantages are key reasons why many homeowners choose to purchase homes with residential LEED certification.

Why Green Housing Is Needed

Image by David Mark from Pixabay

When you think of living green, you may consider the major impact on the environment made by our gas guzzling SUVs and sports cars. However, did you know that the majority of the issue with our environment comes from our houses and offices?

According to the McKinsey report, "Curbing Global Energy Demand: The Energy Productivity Opportunity", our homes are the consumers of up 25 percent of the world's energy and are therefore responsible for 19 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions. Keeping in mind that this number relates only to the homes we live in; not the massive office buildings that line city streets, the number is alarming as it stands. With these numbers of energy consumption, you can see why green housing is an idea whose time has come.

The reason we use so much energy inside of the home is widely because of all of our 'necessary' appliances. It is the rare home where you may not find a television or a computer, and very few homes are without the all essential microwave. But the biggest issue inside of the home is the heating and cooling that is needed. In fact, it is our heating and cooling systems that utilize up to sixty percent of our energy resources at home. Green housing does not necessarily cut the need for heating and cooling, but certain aspects of the green housing idea do cut back on the reliance of energy sapping systems.

To make a difference in your world is to be a part of the solution and not a part of the problem. Green housing is becoming increasingly popular because more and more people want to help solve the problems that have come with the advances in society. To live green doesn't necessarily mean that you must go all solar panels and cut out the use of all appliances; but there are significant changes that you can make to help cut down on energy consumption.

Just what is green housing all about? Let's take a look. Green housing can be comprised of a compilation of different aspects pertaining to building a home. Many families are opting to build homes using certified wood that has been harvested from sustainably managed sources. Green housing materials could also be products that have been manufactured with resource-efficient processes such as reduced energy consumption, minimized waste (recycled, recyclable and/or source reduced product packaging), and reduction of greenhouse gases.

The need for green housing and green building materials is clear. The availability of this sort of living may not be accessible to everyone at this point in time; but those who have begun to pave the way for better buildings have created an easier path for future improvements to the way we build and the way we impact the earth.

Until you can develop your own plan for a home constructed to utilize less energy, such as a round house, you can make small changes in the home you currently live in. Any move towards energy efficiency is a good one, even if it is one small step. One small step leads to many.

Would A Solar Roof, Benefit You?: 4 Considerations

Image by David Mark from Pixabay

For how many years, have we heard about the need, to minimize our dependence on non - renewable, fossil fuels, and replace this, with emphasizing, greener, renewable energy sources? In the past, some alternatives, which were considered, included, using solar, geo - thermal, etc, but, in most cases, either, it was too expensive, and/ or, unpleasing, from a cosmetic, esthetic perspective! A few years ago, one of the companies founded by Elon Musk, created, and introduced, replaceable solar roof tiles, instead of, using units, which, sit, on top of the regular roof. He addressed the significant issue of costs, by marketing these tiles, at approximately, the same price, of conventional roofing. However, each person must discover, whether a solar roof, would make sense, for them, or be wiser, than a more conventional alternative. There are four primary considerations, to evaluate, and this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, these.

1. Examine total costs: Carefully, consider the total costs of changing to this alternative style. This includes the materials, labor, hooking these into the electric - grid, and, in some municipalities, government imposed, fees, etc.

2. Does the existing roof need replacement?: How old is your existing roof? What condition is it in? Obviously, if you would have to install a new roof, anyway, installing a solar roof, becomes even more affordable, etc. Are the installers and technicians, in your geographic area/ region, qualified, and trained, to properly install these newer solutions?

3. Exposure and obstructions: Traditional solar panels require a Southern exposure, in order to maximize, the return, on investment! These replaced tiles cover the entire area, but, one must examine, whether, sufficient sunlight, in an unobstructed manner, makes this approach, the logical decision! Examine, whether, the esthetics, and cosmetics, of this style, are consistent, with your house's maximum appeal!

4. Local zoning issues, laws, and regulations: Some municipalities impose restrictions on solar panels, but, few, to date, have fully addressed, Elon Musk's latest creation! Although, from, both, a longer - term, financial/ economic perspective, as well as from a renewable energy point - of - view, implementing this approach, is a relevant, responsive, sustainable approach.

After the hurricane devastated Puerto Rico, a couple of years ago, Musk's company, brought in, these techniques, and, got, certain hospitals, and schools, up - and - running, quickly and effectively/ efficiently, well before the electrical grid was reinstated. We must begin to think ahead, and become more environmentally, responsible!

5 Reasons for Building Green

Image by David Mark from Pixabay

Various reasons have been given by many people and entities why they go for green homes and buildings. Through the years, developers have been very keen on abiding by the standards set by authorities aimed at promoting sustainable living. Despite the discussions and information drive, many of us are still left clueless about the advantages of such efforts. It is hoped that with the rest of the article, you, as a reader, will be shared with valuable information which will help you grasp the genera idea of green building.

One of the foremost benefits of investing in a green home is the multitude of economic benefits it can give. It may be a costly investment, but as years pass, the owner can actually reap the benefits of lowered electricity and water bills. Operating costs will likely depreciate in figures as compared with operating or maintain a non-green compliant home or building.

The market value of green properties surges as time passes by. Demand for this types of homes are projected to go up by 2020 with more millenials jumping into the realization that owning a dream house should be aligned with embracing environmental obligations as well. If time comes that the owner decides to sell his piece, gain is probably on his edge. Life span of green homes is projected to be longer than their non-compliant counterparts.

Families invest in homes because of their kids. Essentially, the social welfare of younger family members is in the high ranks of consideration when a house is built or bought.

With this come the associated health advantages that owners are likely to get. Planned ventilations and well-located air circulation appliances contribute to improved air quality. In general, windows of green homes are also designed to let natural air and natural sunlight pass according to controlled amount or as needed.

Green homes would not be called such if without for the benefits that the environment gets. These types of homes and structures in general are built using hybrid raw and recycled ingredients. This lessens trees cut for use as boards, lumbers, and hardwoods. The trees are given more time to mature in their natural habitat. Well-planned water sewage and waste disposal systems are also incorporated in the designs of green houses. There is lesser chance that the owner will likely be contributing to the accumulation of untreated waste products.

If you are planning of building a green home, the various benefits discussed above are more than enough reasons to give your plan a green signal.

Here's a BRIGHT Idea: Upgrade Your Lighting to Save Money

Image by David Mark from Pixabay

Over the past decade, lighting technology has grown by leaps and bounds. LED bulbs, low cost automated switches and low energy safety lighting have made both savings and security available to every business owner and home owner. This means that upgrading lighting is literally a "bright" idea for business developers and persons renting commercial or other business space. It's an easy way of making the business location more energy efficient, more secure, and in turn save the renter a lot of money on their utility and insurance bills.

LED (Light Emitting Diode) technology has been at the forefront of the lighting industry. In addition to being long lasting, LED bulbs only require a fraction of the energy of their incandescent and fluorescent counterparts.

The person paying the utility bill (typically the renter) replaces the existing bulbs with LED bulbs. The savings adds up pretty quickly.

Changing from fluorescent to LED bulbs, the energy savings is still 80% of the energy cost for using fluorescent bulbs. (LED lights require less energy to operate; hence the cost savings.)

* LED bulbs generate half the heat that incandescent and fluorescent bulbs produce. Given the number of bulbs in the average commercial space, replacing existing bulbs with LED bulbs will save money by reducing AC energy usage.

Because the savings is constant per bulb, a small business and a large business both save 80% (fluorescent to LED) or 90% (incandescent to LED) on energy costs for lighting. LED lights come in a variety of shapes, sheens, and widths to match nearly any light fixture. Retrofit bulbs, and u-shaped, and circline tubes are among the many options available. In most cases, the savings pays for the LED bulbs in three years.

Low cost automated switches turn lights on when a room is occupied and off when the room is empty. While most commercial spaces need to be continuously lit, some commercial spaces are used only intermittently, like bathrooms and storage rooms. These intermittently used spaces only need lighting a fraction of the business day.

As with LED bulbs, most automated switches can be easily installed by the building owner or renter. Given the average usage for restrooms in commercial spaces, automated switches can pay for themselves in three years even when they control LED bulbs.

Many businesses turn off lights at night, leaving their space dark and vulnerable. Some businesses leave their lights on to discourage vandalism and theft. Another alternative is to install low energy safety lighting.

In recent years, several companies have developed low energy LED lighting built into outlet cover plates and switch plates. Coming in both standard outlet and Decora outlet styles, these outlet plates have photosensor controlled LED bulbs that use less than 1 watt per hour saving 90% compared to a standard commercial space LED bulb.

Replacing existing outlet plates with safety light plates is simple for any building owner or renter. The cost of replacing the majority of outlet plates with these safety light plates is quickly recuperated in three years compared to after hours lighting.

Businesspersons who use rented space should also keep the old bulbs, original switches and outlet plates when they upgrade to LED, switches and safety lighting. Why? The LEDs will last 50,000 operating hours on average. For most businesses, that translates to 1,500 operating days or nearly five years! When moving to a new location, they should switch the bulbs, switches and outlet plates, putting the old bulbs, switches and plates back and taking their LEDs, automated switches and safety lighting with them to install in the next location.

The morale of the story: Replace LED light bulbs, install automated switches and safety lighting whenever you have the opportunity, and become more energy conscious of other potential cost savings. Your efforts will also lead to a greener tomorrow.

Five Reasons to Choose Organic Produce

Image by David Mark from Pixabay

Is it important to choose organic? Yes! Here are five reasons why.

1. Organic food is more nutritious. When produce is fed copious amounts of synthetic fertilizer, it grows bigger, brighter, and faster than organic produce. It experiences bionic, unnatural growth instead. The cells are packed with falsehoods - not the micro-nutrients it takes time to absorb and integrate into the plant.
2. Organic food tastes better. Along the same lines as Number 1, if a plant grows to fast, too big, and prioritizes falsehoods, it will be bland and flavorless. If you are lucky enough to remember eating produce out of your Grandparent's garden, you know full well that the tomatoes were fantastic! Deeply colored, sweet, and juicy - and the taste was so good, it justified to eat them alone. In comparison, eat the sickly, grainy, HUGE, flavorless orbs called tomatoes today and they are pitiful. You'd never bother eating one by itself!
3. Organic is not harmful. If you eat produce that has been doused with synthetic, pesticide chemicals, you are ingesting those chemicals into your body. But they aren't natural - so your body has no way to metabolize them. Instead, they get into your body... but can't get out. They are like plastic in a landfill - there forever. This increasing concentration of harmful pesticides is a major causal factor for the increasing incidences of Autism, ADHD, Asthma, Alzheimer's, etc. As synthetic pesticides are neurotoxins (meaning they affect the 'brains' of pests), they will also affect human brains. Hence the diseases.
4. Organic is not GMO. GMO stands for Genetically Modified Organism. When crops grow conventionally with acres upon acres of monocrop, Nature tries to put other plants in to diversify. These plants are perceived to compete for water, nutrients, etc. Big Agriculture says, "Kill the weeds!" But you can't spray RoundUp on the fields without killing the corn too. So, the mad scientists altered the DNA of corn by taking out a corn chromosome... and replacing it with a RoundUp chromosome. Then you can spray the crop with RoundUp and not harm the corn. But now if you eat that GMO corn, you are eating RoundUp - a carcinogen. (Can you imagine thinking this is a good idea?) You must eat organic produce to avoid GMO.
5. Organic is more sustainable. Big Agriculture will argue this point 'til the cows come home but it is true. Large monocultures of crops are dreadful for the environment. They deplete the soil, offer no biodiversity to support Nature's normal processes, and destroy important habitats including those for the all-important and disappearing honey bees that pollinate crops. Organic crop culture produces more per acre, has far less issues with pests and diseases, requires less added nutrients and can reduce the carbon footprint.

Choose organic produce!

Things You Didn't Know About Log Cabin Maintenance

Image by David Mark from Pixabay

Log home manufacturers often anticipate settling and shrinking of the homes after a period of usage. As such, they use measures such as scribing drywall around the logs to help further increase the life of such structures. Once you buy the log house, the responsibility of maintenance comes your way and unfortunately, there is not enough information on how to go about it. More often than not, the info proffered is not the right route to follow if you wish to maintain a log house for decades on end. Let's uncover some ways you can use to manage your home.

What you need to know

Wood treatment

You may think that the initial wood treatment applied to your house is adequate to protect it from weather elements. However, this is not true. Most treatment films used on the wood are hard such that when a log moves, the film cracks, thus exposing the wood to weather elements such as rain. Over time, fungus and mildew incubate in these spaces, leading to wood rot that could cost you a home. The sound thing to do is to get rid of the film as opposed to waiting for it to wear off.

Quality matters

Always investigate the manufacturer from whom you source your log homes. Some people like taking shortcuts so that they can maximize their returns and they conduct construction with dead standing trees. Once a tree dies, internal rot begins, and over time, it starts to show, long after you bought the house. To make the situation worse, some of these manufacturers will finish the log home in a film treatment, thus locking in the rot and accelerating the breakdown process. You can save yourself a lot of difficulties by getting a high-quality log home from a trusted manufacturer from the beginning.

The takeaway

Trees have enemies which they can fend off when they are alive. However, once a tree gets cut down, it is up to humankind to protect it from weather elements to ensure that it can offer service for a long time. Look for a manufacturer who uses borates in their treatments as well as any other non-toxic substances without color or smells. CCA also comes in handy in wood preservation.

Let's get down to the maintenance now that you know what to avoid when getting a log house.

Maintenance practices

If you regularly maintain your home, you will protect it from getting damaged by weather elements and pests. You should carry out maintenance practices on your home at least twice a year, preferably during fall and spring. Springtime is best for checking for any damage to the house accruing from freezing water, and it also gives you adequate time to prepare for the hot months ahead.

Fall time enables you to check for damage resulting from heat such as fading and any pest infestations as you prepare for the cold months. It is imperative that you conduct maintenance during these seasons. Over time, you will realize that a fixed schedule is more effective and costs less as compared to irregular maintenance practices. It also takes up less time.

Inspect the home

Before embarking on maintenance, inspect your home to figure out what needs fixing. Start at one point of your house and move around in the interior before examining the outside. You should look for things such as damaged pipes, cracks, mold and other damages that can affect your house. Be sure to inspect the roof for leaky gutters, cracks on the chimney and any other factors that are deleterious to the stability of your home.

Cleaning up

When cleaning your cabin, you will notice a lot more than you did during the inspection. Not only is it an excellent means to be thorough in your check but it also gives you a chance to get rid of dirt such as animal feces, dust, spider webs and other such deposits in your house. A soft bristle brush, warm water, and a mild detergent are enough to clean the cabin without interfering with the aesthetics. Start by wetting surfaces before using soap on them in circular motion such that the logs do not get streaks. Hose down the cabin and let it dry for about three to four days before moving on to other steps.

Your cabin may or may not require staining, and this will be up to you once you inspect the results of your cleaning. Staining once every three years is enough if you use a high-quality stain. However, this will vary based on a cabin's exposure to sunlight. The side which receives the most sunlight will often require a new coat before the three years are up. You know it's time to get staining if your cabin has a dull appearance.

Sealant application

Chinking seals the joints between logs and thus protects your home from weather elements. If done right, chinking should serve you for two decades. However, this will depend on the kinds of temperatures to which your log cabin has exposure. Luckily, there is elastomeric on the market which works far better than the previously used cement-based chinking. Elastomeric requires less maintenance and thus brings the maintenance costs down.

Pest control

Do this annually for the best results. Timber cannot defend itself from infestations by insects, and if such pests go unchecked, you will incur a lot of costs in maintaining your cabin. As such, make it a habit to clean, dust and fumigate your cabin as often as possible to make infestation difficult for pests.

Annual maintenance

It is essential that you often clean your gutters and control water run-off because back splash affects the appearance of your home. Effects include darkening of some parts of the cabin and encouraging decay and infestation. These problems are costly in the long run.

If you have not maintained your cabin in a long time, it is best to start with the restoration process. It involves preparation of the surface, preservation techniques, staining, and sealing. However, it is always best to protect yourself from having to incur costs for restoration by adequately maintaining your house on an annual basis.

Top Money-Saving Tips For Your Garden

Image by David Mark from Pixabay

If you need to update your current garden furniture or are planning to buy some for next year, here are some great ways you can save some cash while also adding furniture to your porch or patio this summer.

Purchase Garden Fundamentals Out Of Season

Garden furniture is a seasonal business and so buying out of season will usually see lower costs. Buy garden furniture, BBQ's and grills toward the end of the summer months to save a lot of money. Most retailers offer end of season rebates, so by holding off on those enormous buys, you could grab yourself a fantastic deal.

Separate Your Perennials

Dig out your wide-covering and expansive perennials and separate them from the roots using a spade or fork - doing this will give you a few small plants which you would then be able to give to friends or move to another piece of the garden. Reusing and altering the plants you already have, instead of buying new things will save you a lot of money in the long run.

Image by David Mark from Pixabay

What's natural food, and is it better Than Non-natural?
natural meals have exploded in reputation over the last two decades.
In truth, US customers spent $39.1 billion on natural produce in 2014 (1).
The recognition does not appear to be slowing down, as income expanded by means of more than 11% from 2014 to 2015 (1).
Many humans think natural food is more secure, more healthy and tastier than ordinary meals (2).
Others say it’s better for the environment and the properly-being of animals.
this article objectively compares organic and non-organic meals, including their nutrient content material and results on human health.
What's natural meals?
The term “natural” refers to the technique of ways certain ingredients are produced.
Organic ingredients had been grown or farmed without using artificial chemical substances, hormones, antibiotics or genetically modified organisms.
in an effort to be labelled organic, a food product have to be free of artificial meals components.
This includes artificial sweeteners, preservatives, coloring, flavoring and monosodium glutamate (MSG).
Organically grown vegetation have a tendency to apply natural fertilizers like manure to improve plant boom. Animals raised organically are also no longer given antibiotics or hormones.
organic farming tends to improve soil pleasant and the conservation of groundwater. It additionally reduces pollutants and may be higher for the environment.
The maximum usually purchased natural foods are end result, vegetables, grains, dairy merchandise and meat. these days there are also many processed natural products to be had, consisting of sodas, cookies and breakfast cereals.

Organic foods may additionally comprise extra vitamins
research evaluating the nutrient content material of organic and non-natural ingredients have supplied combined results.
That is most possibly due to natural variation in meals dealing with and manufacturing.
But, evidence does propose that foods grown organically may be greater nutritious.
Organically Grown plants Have greater Antioxidants and vitamins
several research have discovered that organic foods commonly include better stages of antioxidants and positive micronutrients, inclusive of nutrition C, zinc and iron (3, 4Trusted supply, 5Trusted supply, 6Trusted source).
In fact, antioxidant stages can be up to 69% better in those ingredients (6Trusted source).
One observe additionally discovered that organically grown berries and corn contained fifty eight% greater antioxidants and up to 52% better amounts of vitamin C (5Trusted supply).
What’s more, one look at pronounced that changing everyday fruit, greens and cereals with natural variations ought to offer more antioxidants inside the food regimen. This changed into similar to ingesting 1-2 extra quantities of fruit and vegetables day by day (6Trusted supply).
natural plant life do no longer depend on chemical pesticide sprays to guard themselves. alternatively, they produce greater of their very own protecting compounds, namely antioxidants.
this could partially provide an explanation for the higher degrees of antioxidants in these vegetation.
Nitrate levels are usually lower
Organically grown crops have also been proven to have lower stages of nitrate. In reality, research have shown that nitrate tiers are 30% decrease in these crops (6Trusted source, 7).
High nitrate degrees are related to an accelerated risk of certain types of cancer (8Trusted source).
They’re additionally linked to a circumstance called methemoglobinemia, a disease in infants that affects the body’s capability to hold oxygen (8Trusted source).
That being said, many people accept as true with that the dangerous effects of nitrates had been overstated. The blessings of consuming greens far outweigh any bad results.
natural Dairy and Meat may Have A greater Favorable Fatty Acid Profile natural milk and dairy products might also include higher stages of omega-3 fatty acids and slightly higher amounts of iron, vitamin E and some carotenoids (7, 9Trusted source).
However, organic milk can also contain much less selenium and iodine than non-organic milk, minerals which are important for health (9Trusted source).
A review of 67 studies located that organic meat contained better stages of omega-three fatty acids and barely lower degrees of saturated fats than traditional meat (10Trusted supply).
A higher consumption of omega-three fatty acids has been related to many health benefits, together with a reduced risk of heart ailment.
However, numerous studies found No variations
even as several studies discover organic meals to contain extra vitamins, many others have found inadequate evidence to recommend organic over inorganic (11Trusted supply).
An observational examine comparing the nutrient intakes of almost four,000 adults consuming either natural or traditional vegetables located conflicting results.
Even though a barely higher intake of positive nutrients was seen within the natural organization, this was most likely due to better universal vegetable intake (12Trusted supply).
A evaluation of 55 studies found no differences within the nutrient content of organic versus regular crops, except for lower nitrate levels in organic produce (13Trusted source).
another evaluate of 233 research discovered a loss of sturdy proof to finish that natural ingredients are greater nutritious than ordinary meals (11Trusted source).
Though, it's miles important to understand that those studies vary pretty broadly in their effects.
this is because the nutrient content material of food depends on many factors, consisting of soil excellent, weather situations and when the plants are harvested.
The composition of dairy products and meat can be tormented by variations in animal genetics and animal breed, what the animals consume, the time of 12 months and type of farm.
The natural variations inside the manufacturing and handling of meals make comparisons difficult. consequently, the outcomes of those research need to be interpreted with caution.

Is Organic Food Really Organic?

Image by David Mark from Pixabay

Organic foods covers the maximum space of all supermarket’s shelf. Organic foods claim to provide to the consumers various types of health benefits. Organic refers to the fruits and vegetables produced without the use of any synthesized fertilizer.

Once found only in the aisles of health stores, Organic foods now cover the maximum space of any supermarket’s shelf. The shift in the eating habits from conventionally grown food to organic edibles is a result of health benefits these organic foods claim to provide to the consumers. “Organic” refers to the vegetables and crops produced without the use of any synthesized fertilizer, pesticide or any Genetically Modified Organism, while in animals that produce meat, eggs, poultry and dairy, growth hormones and antibiotics are avoided to keep them chemically free.

But how does one differentiate organically processed edibles from the conventional when they both appear almost the same?

While picking up organic food from the aisle of a supermarket people just look for the USDA (U.S Department of Agriculture) label that rates the purity of the food items. The seal of government approval is provided after rounds of inspection and decides how such foods have to be processed, handled and cultivated.

The three kinds of organic foods segmented by USDA on the basis of the processing techniques used are-

100% Organic - To be placed under the category of 100% Organic, products must be completely organic or made using all organic ingredients.

Organic - Product should be at least 95 organic to fall under this list. The remaining 5 could contain inorganic substances, but only from the list of 200 chemicals permitted by the government.

Made with Organic- Made with organic food products contain 70 of organic substances, the other 30 could have the elements approved by USDA

How Organic is the Organic Food? - Controversies

Use of GMOs
GMOs or Genetically Modified Organisms are the substances that are engineered to make crops pest resistant. Though USDA does not permit the use of such chemicals but still there are few loopholes that exist, for instance, the organic sausages come from conventionally raised animals that are fed antibiotics. Similarly, two common ingredients namely non-organic cornstarch and soy lecithin are long overdue to be removed from the list of approved elements.

Not Well Inspected
Not every piece in the container filled with organic food is checked and verified. The inspection process is often superficial, most of the farmers and food processors bribe the certifiers, also various certifiers compete for the business with one another. Apart from this, organic rules are majorly designed for the big farms that yield more than $5000 a year; small fields are still exempted from regular inspections.

What About Imports?
Importers of the third party certifiers rarely go to verify the purity of the organic foods; instead they tie up with the local agencies operating in the source country. It increases the chances of fraud and lax enforcement. Also, the food that does not meet the standards gets imported through a third country with a loose regulatory administration.

The main purpose of consuming organic food seems diluted in the presence of such controversies. The only option left with the consumers is to trust the purveyors before trusting the government labelFree Articles, which itself is disheartening. Strict actions are required to ensure the authenticity of the organic food that is distributed worldwide before things get worse.

Going Organic is all about promoting healthier bodies and a safer environment.

Not everyone knows about the fact that you can get not only organic produce but also organic meats. This enables you to change your entire dietary lifestyle if you so wish, without having to compromise on such things as organic meats and organic dairy products, substituting the non-organic stuff instead.

In fact, if you do your grocery shopping in a place where organic foods are readily available, you will find the organic meats and dairy products to be readily available alongside their stock of organic fruits, vegetables and processed foods. This is also true, maybe especially more so, of online organic food stores and suppliers.

So what is the deal with organic meats? Well for one thing, organically reared animals are treated to a different regimen than animals reared on normal farms. For one thing, these animals are only fed organic foods.

This means that they don’t have any non-organic foods in their diets at all from the very beginning. They are only fed on high quality organic produce. There is also the small factor of not having any antibiotics pumped into these animals as well as not being subject to other potentially harmful toxins.

Just because you prefer organic foods, it doesn’t mean that you have to become vegetarian or even vegan. You can still enjoy the same sumptuous foursquare meals that you’re used to without loss of vital ingredients. This is where knowing where to get your organic meats can come in handy.

And part and parcel with organic meats, come organic dairy products. Since animals reared in an organic farming environment will also produce organic dairy products as well, you have that assurance that you can still enjoy your port and cheese!

All that aside, when you’re looking at organic meats, you will also want to look at the various processed organic foods as well, that contains meat. Unless it has been specifically stated that the ingredients within the packaging s 100% organic you might find yourself faced with only some of the items being organic.

This applies to any meats to be found in the product as well. Unless it has been stated specifically that the meats contained are organic meats you might want to think twice before buying these types of processed foods.

If you’re having trouble finding not only organic meats but organic fish as well, you might want to try your hand at finding an organic foods supplier online. You will more than likely have better luck at these places finding, and purchasing, your organic meatsFind Article, fish and dairy produce.

Living off the grid – is possible?

Image by David Mark from Pixabay

A lot of people begin to realize that modern amenities can still be enjoyed, even if you are going off the grid and you’re independent. Off the grid living is just that, not being connected to a grid.

There are no electric bills to worry about or power lines over your house and on top of that you also save money. You’re also helping the environment when you live off the grid, so anyone that has a house should take this option into consideration.

The same principles that apply to living off grid can also be used for any house, even if it’s still connected to the grid. You can use windmills, hydropower or solar panels if you want to get your energy at least partially from renewable energy, while getting rid of energy provided by power plants.

With the advancement in today’s technologies, the prices of solar panels have gone down a lot. If you like to do things yourself, you have a lot of manuals, resources and kits at your disposal. Even though the planet’s resources keep going down, those that live off the grid can rest easy.

If you think that all your gadgets can’t be used anymore than the thought of living off the grid can be scary, but it would be false worrying. All that off the grid living means is that you should be moderate about the electricity you consume. Nobody said you should give up everything.

I’m talking about turning the lights off when you’re out of the room or buying appliances that don’t consume energy when they’re not used. Instead of turning off, unplug them. Every single gadget that has a little light when it’s turned off consumes energy, and it all adds up. Just because you’re off grid doesn’t mean you should give up using gadgets. It only means that you should be smarter about the way you’re using electricity.

Since living off grid has become such a popular trend, companies are making now even houses that can be relocated and are highly efficient. These houses look a lot like mobile homes as far as the layout is concerned and they can hold one or two people inside. They are powered by the sun, with the solar panels included in the design. They also need some natural gas.

If all you need to live off grid is success storiesArticle Search, then the Internet should provide you with plenty of them. You can find a huge number of resources there and plenty of people that have gone off grid and can give you tips about it.

Living Off Grid with Solar Power

Image by David Mark from Pixabay

When it comes to living off grid, one way many seek to accomplish it is with solar power. Today I’m going to cover just how easy it is to go off grid by choosing to build your own solar panel system. With new techniques and kits becoming available it really is simple for anyone who chooses to convert their entire home to solar power and live off grid for good.

Really this is a three step process, so let’s cover each step individually to help you go off grid and build your own solar energy system.

Living off Grid Step 1 – Determine Your Requirements.

Your first step can actually be divided into two separate steps. First, it’s worth taking the time to reduce your energy needs before converting to solar power. This is as simple as looking at what you currently have and replacing things with more energy efficient models.

As an example, a 100 Watt incandescent bulb uses 100 Watts of energy for every hour you have it on. A newer LCD bulb has cleaner light and uses only 4.5 Watts of energy to produce the same amount of light. Simple changes like this will reduce your energy requirements and in turn reduce the cost of your overall system.

If you need help with this step, Canada’s Energuide is an excellent resource to learn about the energy requirements of different items, and comparing them to reduce energy. Also, the implementation guide that comes with Green Power Easy details the steps needed here very well. Find a link to their site at the end of this article.

Once you’ve reduced your energy requirements, you need to take the time to calculate how much energy you use on a daily basis. This is as simple as looking at everything in your home that requires electricity and then calculating the Watt-Hour requirements.

For example if you look at your lightbulbs:

That LCD 4.5Watt Bulb is on for 4 hours a day. It then uses 4.5 x 4 = 18 Watt Hours of Electricity each day.

Your fridge that is rated at 400 Watts (runs about 1/3 of the time) uses 400 x 8 = 3200 Watt hours of electricity every day (or 3.2 kW Hours) .

Continue this with every electrical appliance in your house until you have a complete list of what’s needed.

Living off Grid Step 2 – Build Solar Panels to Suit

Your next step is to build enough solar panels to suit your home’s needs. If you were building 100 Watt panels, then each one is capable of producing about 1.2 kilo Watt Hours of electricity every day. If in step one you determined that you needed 10 kilo Watt hours per day to run your home, you would then need 8 panels to run your home.

In this case, you want to produce more power than you actually use so you should build more. Using the above example I might choose to build 11 panels to ensure I have energy to spare and that I never reduce my battery bank to 0.

Building your own solar panels is surprisingly simple. A DIY guide to alternative energy can teach you everything you need to know.

Living off Grid Step 3 – Assemble Your Solar Power System

The last step to living off grid is to put together your final system. This will entail getting a charge controller (can be built yourself for about ¼ of the cost), setting up a battery bankFeature Articles, and then getting a power inverter and wiring everything into your home.

There are many choices out there to learn how to implement all of the steps we have just discussed. . We suggest the first step is to read some reviews of thetop guides to DIY solar panels. These guides give you a more detailed idea of how to do it and will also give you inexpensive solutions to things like building a battery bank to store energy.

As a long term "green" advocate, I'm always looking for new ways to help others in their quest to start reducing their energy consumption. If only a small portion of our population makes a few changes we can see huge results. Reviewing your current consumption is a good step in the right direction. There are many review sites on the net that will help get you started as well.

Key Points To Success With Your Organic Vegetable Garden

Organic gardening has become a popular method for ordinary people to grow their own vegetables, using only natural methods of fertilization and pest-control. Food grown in this way is not only more healthy, but also tastes better. Organic vegetables and fruit are more nutritional, contain a higher vitamin content and have no chemical residue. Growing your own food without chemicals is also better for the environment.

Many people across the developed world are looking for new and rewarding ways to go green and avoid the pitfalls of modern food cultivation and supply.

There's also the fact to consider, that if you grow your own fruit and vegetables, you know what's in them.

Organic vegetable gardening is no harder than traditional gardening methods once you have the basics in place. I have prepared some key points that will help you to success with your organic vegetable garden.

More attention needs to be given to the soil than with a traditional gardening approach. Turn the soil regularly, whilst adding and mixing-in compost. Compost consists largely of leaves, vegetable scraps, dead flowers and grass clippings. Compost also retains moisture, has nutrients, acts as a natural pest-controller and will provide most of the materials necessary for your organic vegetable garden to grow and flourish.

I would suggest making your own compost heap at the bottom of the garden, or in some out-of-the-way corner. Add all of your crass cuttings, other garden and kitchen-food waste to the mix. Be careful not to add too much animal or fish remains.

Once you have your compost ready, spread it over the top soil. Make sure that the layer is about two inches thick. The compost will supply a large part of the minerals and other nutrients that your plants need to grow.

There are many organic fertilizers and other organic garden products on offer. If you are a vegetarian I suggest you check the label, because some of them contain animal products like fish oil, bone and leather.

Make sure that the seeds or plants that you buy are organic. These are easily available to buy online if you have trouble purchasing them in your local area.

If you are starting your vegetable garden from seeds, these will need to be planted either indoors or in a greenhouse. Plant them in a container with plenty of organic soil. Make sure that they have plenty of light and water, but don't over-water them as they can die easily. The soil just needs to be moist.

When your seedlings have two leafs on them it is time to transfer them to a bigger container. Consider potting your plants in biodegradable pots, as these can be planted straight into the soil.

As I have already said, your compost will act as a natural pest-controller. Organic gardening, however, allows for a certain level of insect and pest activity. Consider actively enticing insect predators to your crops, such as ladybugs and birds, by keeping a water source nearby. There are also some household items that you can use, such as garlic and hot peppers, to keep insects away.

These key points should guide you to success with your organic vegetable garden. When you harvest your crop, you will know that not only is the taste far superior, but that your vegetables are much more healthy than traditional methods of growing food.

Benefits of a Fireplace to Heat a home

A fireplace or wood stove adds a certain charm to a home, especially in the colder climates during the winter months. There is nothing quite as inviting as a crackling fire in the fireplace, when the weather is cold and snowy outside. Many people rent cabins and vacation homes in the winter just for the ambiance of a toasty fire to sit next to and toast marshmallows. Less than a century ago, most people used a fireplace or wood stove to heat their home and often cook their food on as well.

There are a few things to consider before getting a fireplace or wood stove to help heat your home. There are options available if you are not sure. A gas or electric fireplace is clean burning with no air pollution, and no debris in your home from wood or pieces that have fallen off of the logs.

The first thing you need to remember is that it is important to make sure the chimney is kept clean and free of soot buildup. (This is not important with an electric fireplace, as there is no chimney).

A fireplace should have doors on the front of it, so the heat from the room does not get pulled up the chimney and go outside. You can also get an attachment fan to your fireplace or stove to help move the heat around the room. This will prevent the heat disappearing up your chimney. There are new designs out every day that are practical yet attractive to the eye. Doors also add a safety feature, to keep small children from getting hurt.

Fire back

This consists of a metal plate that lines the back of a fireplace. This is used to protect the masonry, but also used to radiate heat back into the room.

Inserts are cast iron or steel boxes that can use wood, electricity, gas, or even coal and are fitted right into an existing fireplace. These are extremely efficient, and can actually reduce home heating costs by 20 to 40% according to the Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Association.

Be sure to get the right size stove or fireplace for your home, as it is pointless to get a fireplace or stove only to discover that it is too small and will not heat the area properly. You need to measure the square footage of the room and tell the clerk at the store so they can help you decide how big the stove or fireplace should be to adequately heat the room.

Studies have shown that using a fireplace or stove to help heat the home, can cut the heating bill by as much as 50%.

Overall, fireplaces and stoves can be used successfully to lower your heating bill, add ambiance to your homeFree Reprint Articles, and make a lasting impression on visitors when they see how comfortable you are with your fireplace or wood stove.

A recipe for making goat's milk soap
It's time for the perfect recipe for homemade goat's milk soap. Believe me, after trying it, you will not even think about expensive face creams.
List of ingredients:
baby soap
2 dl water,
150 ml of hot goat's milk,
2 tablespoons oatmeal,
1 teaspoon of acacia honey (or some other natural-homemade), if you don't have it, take two to three teaspoons of sugar.
almond oil also 2-3 teaspoons,
teaspoon of glycerin, you do not have to put it in the mixture if it is already in baby soap.
metal sherpa for cooking soap.
How is goat's milk soap made?
Work patiently and slowly step by step according to the instructions and success is guaranteed.
Pour water into a suitable bowl and place on the stove to heat. Use the time until the water boils, then order baby soap.
As soon as the water starts to throw the first key, reduce the stove to a minimum and add the grated soap first. Immediately afterwards, hot goat's milk and honey, and mix everything together well.
It takes a good 20 or even 40 minutes for the soap to melt. Stir occasionally to prevent lumps from forming. Also add a teaspoon of glycerin during melting.
You can also cover the sherpa so that the goat's milk does not evaporate unnecessarily. During this period, feel free to add a little more hot goat's milk or water. The melted soap at the very end of the whole process should have a similar density as the pancake mixture.
During the melting, prepare the molds as well. Be imaginative here, you can also use a plastic box of margarine, for example. Be sure to coat the inside of the mold with a little oil so that your homemade soap can slide out of the box nicely.
When you get a mixture of the mentioned density, add almond oil to it and mix well.
Finally, add the oatmeal and essential oils, mix, turn off the heat and gently pour the mixture into molds.
How is goat soap stored?
Now put the homemade goat's milk soap in the fridge for half an hour. It will tighten finely, and then hand it out of the box. Now cut the soap into appropriate pieces and let them air dry for a few days. Rotate them occasionally to dry evenly on all sides. It would be ideal to dry them for 15-20 days.
Making goat's milk soap is not at all naive as you can see, but go easy and you will surely succeed. You will get an exceptional natural facial peeling soap . It accelerates skin regeneration, hydrates it better, slows down its aging and soothes inflammatory processes.

The advantages of this method are:

simplicity and economy;
you don’t need too many ingredients;
you can use soap immediately after it hardens;
perhaps the best advantage is that you do not have to use a solution, which requires knowledge of proper handling

Every morning before leaving their apartment, women around the world expose their skin to various harmful chemicals. That number ranges up to as many as 100 substances in just a few products that are part of our daily beauty routine. It only takes 26 seconds for our skin to absorb all the harmful ingredients contained in industrial cosmetics.

It is disturbing to realize that most of the products we grew up with contain substances that can affect our health and cause diseases such as cancer, neuropathy, etc.

In addition, various unpleasant types of allergies and rashes are not negligible as a consequence of the use of cosmetics with problematic chemical composition.

The skin is one of our largest organs - a person has an average of about 3 kg of skin, which is a semi-permeable membrane in our body. Various impurities and pollutants from the air and the environment enter our body through the skin. What we apply to the skin becomes just as important as what we eat.

What is natural cosmetics?
Natural cosmetics come directly from nature and basically contain pure, original and natural ingredients that can most often be found in the meadow. To make things even simpler - to call the cream natural, it must contain ingredients that have not been further processed and that have not been subjected to various chemical treatments.

Natural and organic cosmetics
Organic cosmetics, unlike natural ones, tell us about the way of growing the plants that will be used for it. This means growing without pesticides and fertilizers on land that has not been treated with any chemicals for several years.

We can distinguish three categories of natural cosmetics:

Natural cosmetics
Natural cosmetics with organic ingredients - contains at least 70% of organically obtained ingredients (eg nourishing natural cream with organic cultivation of aloe vera extract)
Organic cosmetics - contains at least 95% natural ingredients from organic production; more precisely, organic cosmetics are those cosmetics in which at least 95% of the physically processed ingredients are of controlled organic origin and which make up a total of 20% of the total product (for example, organic natural shea butter cream)
Ingredients most commonly used in industrial cosmetics
The most commonly used ingredients in cosmetics that you have probably heard of so far are parabens, formaldehyde, silicones and sulfates.

For all the listed ingredients, there is detailed research that proves a direct harmful effect not only on the skin, but much more importantly on your health.

Paraben has a detrimental effect on reproductive health. It negatively affects the reproductive organs in men and carries the risk of malignant melanoma due to estrogen stimulation. Another study linked the ingredient paraben to the development of breast cancer.

Sulfates often appear as SLS or SLES and are believed to be carcinogenic. Sulfates can cause allergic reactions, and are especially harmful for all those people who have a problem with psoriasis or other skin problems.

Now that you have basic information about organic and natural cosmetics, below we can list the benefits of using these products.

# 1 Gentle for your skin
Organic cosmetics are made from ingredients that will bring improvement and health to your skin. Starting with minerals such as magnesium, calcium, zinc, through botanical ingredients such as tea tree oil, rosemary and green tea, which bring protection and a soothing effect to the skin.

We have already explained that most cosmetic products, especially makeup, contain a lot of bad ingredients that are simply not healthy for your skin, and we can even say that they are very aggressive. If you have sensitive skin, it is recommended to switch to using organic cosmetics. It contains ingredients that will have a beneficial effect on the condition of your skin, and as time passes it will get better.

# 2 Protecting future generations
Many harmful ingredients, which can be found in our daily beauty routine, are associated with various deficiencies in newborns. Research in America has shown that phthalates, which can be found in baths, shampoos and eau de toilette, can have a very bad effect on pregnant women. Their children can later be born with attention deficit disorder and develop hyperactivity. When you use organic cosmetics, you contribute to future generations by introducing less harmful chemicals into your body.

# 3 Environmental protection
Most of the products we use every day contain petroleum products and are known to us as paraffin and vaseline. These chemicals pollute our water sources because we discharge them into the sewer every day through our bathrooms.

Unfortunately, it should be acknowledged that we are not only harming ourselves, but also the plant and animal species that inhabit rivers, lakes, seas and oceans. Organic cosmetics are good for the environment, primarily because all the natural ingredients that are part of these products are grown without the use of pesticides and industry.

Ingredients in natural face creams

When you decide to make your natural face cream at home, it is important that you get acquainted with the ingredients, accessories and how to make the cream before making it.

Creams can be made in cold preparation (without cooking) and warm (with cooking), and each cream consists of three main components:

fatty phases (base oil or butter)
aqueous phases (boiled water or hydrolate)
an emulsifier that connects the fatty and aqueous phases
Here are the ingredients that a natural face cream has:

Base oils and butters

It is very important to determine the type of your facial skin before making the cream . Whether it is oily facial skin, dry or combination , the ingredients that we put in the cream will depend on it the most. First of all, because not all ingredients are the same for every skin type. It depends on the type of our skin which oil or butter we will choose for the cream.

The most common are facial cocoa butter , cocoa butter , which is suitable for dry skin, shea butter , which is best for problematic and combination skin , and finally mango butter , which perfectly nourishes oily skin.

The most common uses for facial skin care include almond oil , wheat germ oil for normal and dry skin, jojoba and olive oil for oily skin, and avocado and sesame oil for combination skin.

The choice of hydrolate also depends on the skin type, and the most appreciative and used for all skin types are lavender or immortelle , which are gentle and provide freshness to the skin.

Emulsifiers are substances that bind incompatible ingredients, such as oil and water, because their molecules expand and combine with other molecules when heated. In the process of cooling, the connection between the molecules of the emulsifier and the molecules of other things becomes stronger, thus creating a new form of matter. In our case, we get a natural face cream from oil, water and a solid emulsifier.

The most famous natural emulsifiers, which are used to make natural face creams, and are available on our market are Phytocream 2000 based on wheat protein, Lanette N , which is a semi-natural anionic emulsifier and Lecithin pantex which is obtained from soy.

Other ingredients - which are most often added to creams, make an upgrade so that the cream is made exactly to the measure of our skin. Most are added at the very end, when the cream is ready, and these include:

natural preservatives, such as grapefruit seed extract or vitamin E, which is added about 10 drops per 100 ml of ready-made natural face cream. They serve to stabilize the cream and make it resistant to fungi and spoilage and prevent the formation of blackheads on the face .
aloe vera gel or glycerin, which give the skin extra moisture, and add a maximum of 2% of the total weight of the cream
vitamins A, E and D, which serve to regenerate the skin and against wrinkles. You can add a maximum of 10 drops per 100 ml of cream
essential oils that further protect and nourish the skin. It also depends on the type of skin and the specific problem which essential oil we will choose. If you are not sure, it is best to add oils to the cream that belong to the safe, such as lavender or rose, because they are good and suitable for all skin types. Usually no more than 10 drops of essential oil per 100 ml of cream is applied.
Some ingredients, such as beeswax, are often combined with butter and oils, because it creates an additional filter on the skin, and thus serves to protect the winter from wind and cold. Such ingredients must be added at the very beginning of the preparation of the natural face cream, because they are rigid and should first be heated and dissolved in order to be able to combine with the other ingredients.

Necessary accessories
When choosing the dishes in which you will cook the cream, it is important that they are made of stainless steel . A small hand mixer may also be needed. A precise electronic scale is needed, because the quantities that are added to creams are usually so small that the classic cake scale does not register them.

Storing natural face creams
When you make your personal product, you will store such creams in the refrigerator, preferably in glass jars, and do not use them for more than three months.

Keep in mind that natural cosmetics, regardless of natural preservatives, are easily perishable, so always wash your hands thoroughly before storing, and before making it, be sure to wash the packaging and tools.

And if natural cosmetics are almost completely safe, sometimes it can happen that you are allergic to some ingredient.

To avoid side effects, apply a cream to a small area of skin on the upper arm and leave it to stand overnight. If the skin is normal and there are no signs of irritation, the cream is ready to use

Natural cream against scars on the face

Comfrey is one of the most effective natural means for tissue regeneration, so it is not surprising that comfrey cream is used as an excellent remedy against scars , because when the skin is completely regenerated, the scar disappears.

To make comfrey cream against scars, you need to have quality unsalted lard and comfrey root, in equal amounts 1: 1.

How to prepare this fantastic cream:

It is necessary to wash the comfrey root very well and dry it, so that not a little water remains on it. After that, cut it into as small pieces as possible and measure the weight. Put the same amount of lard in a suitable bowl and heat it well. Then add the prepared comfrey root and fry it on low heat for about 5 minutes. Remove from the stove, cover the dish and let it stand for a day.

The next day, heat the fat slightly just enough to make it liquid, so that it can be filtered through gauze. Pour the strained ointment into a glass container, store it in the refrigerator and use it as the best natural cream against scars .

If you want, you can add a few drops of lavender essential oil to this cream, because it also accelerates the regeneration of skin cells, and in addition, your cream will have a very nice and pleasant scent.

Comfrey cream is applied 2-3 times a day in a thin layer on the scar, when the scab falls off the injured place.
